Underwriting Assistant

 

New England Excess Exchange (NEEE) is seeking a self-motivated and team oriented Underwriting Assistant.  Successful candidates will support all aspects of the underwriting process, while working in tandem with multiple underwriters.

 What you’ll do:

  • Provide a high level of support for multiple underwriters with a team approach.
  • Act as a liaison between underwriters, agents and/or company representatives with a high level of professionalism. 
  • Thorough understanding of the underwriting process and philosophy.
  • Assist underwriters with renewal setup, including identification of potential risks and adhering to underwriting and compliance standards.  
  • Inspection report analysis.
  • Assist underwriters with marketing strategies. 
  • Track and follow up on assigned tasks to ensure timely completion.

 Preferred Education, Experience and competencies:

  • High School diploma with minimum of five (5) years office experience
  • Property & Casualty Insurance License preferred
  • Reliable, consistent attendance
  • Ability to perform tasks with accuracy in a timely manner

  • Strong organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail

  • Portrays good judgement in addition to problem solving, independent thinking and strong analytical abilities

  • Experience in fast paced environment
  • Must be able to communicate positively, succinctly and professionally both verbally or in writing
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
